Michigan Temporarily Closing Ortonville Shooting Range

The Department of Natural Resources will temporarily close the Ortonville shooting range on weekdays from August 19-23 and August 26-30 for earthen berm maintenance. Portions of the range will be open to the public the weekend of August 24-25; the 200-yard range area will be closed. Regular range days and hours will resume on August 31.

Modern restrooms are coming to the Ortonville, Pontiac Lake, and Sharonville shooting ranges to make them more user friendly for shooters! Construction will be done in stages at the three ranges, beginning the week of August 19 at Ortonville, continuing at Pontiac Lake, and then at Sharonville. We expect the work to be completed in the fall.

The Ortonville shooting range will be open on Labor Day, September 2.
