Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) hosted its annual bipartisan Congressional Clays Competition at the premier Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Center. This unique sporting clay, trap, and skeet shooting event provides an unparalleled opportunity for attendees from the sporting conservation community to connect and enjoy our time-honored traditions with industry partners and Members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), something that makes CSF unique within the community.
As the only bipartisan organization dedicated to protecting and advancing hunting, fishing, recreational shooting, and trapping, CSF’s advocacy work on Capitol Hill and in every state throughout the nation ensures sportsmen’s interests are represented and policies are put in place to sustainably manage our natural resources.
According to CSF President and CEO Jeff Crane, “With the support of our partners and industry allies, we can continue to celebrate and promote the spirit of bipartisanship through events like the Congressional Clays Competition. Already in 2023, CSF and CSC have been working together to lead meaningful legislation for sportsmen and women in Congress, and despite the often-polarizing atmosphere of Capitol Hill, I am proud to see a strong bipartisan showing at today’s competition. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus continues to show that the conservation and promotion of our outdoor heritage is an issue of high priority that knows no political ideology.”
Founded in 1988, the bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus has grown into one of the largest and most effective caucuses in Congress. With leadership from both sides of the aisle and approximately more than 200 members representing almost every state, the CSC is truly the champion of sportsmen and women in Washington D.C. So far in 2023, CSC Leaders and Members have been guiding critical conservation legislation including the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, the Range Access Act, the America’s Outdoor Recreation Act, the RISEE Act, the REEF Act, and more.
CSF would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the Mission Partners and sponsors who made this such a successful event. Title Sponsors include Bass Pro Shops; Cabela’s; and Richard Childress Racing. Host Sponsors include Ecentria; Federal Forest Resource Coalition; Hornady Manufacturing, Inc.; National Rifle Association; National Shooting Sports Foundation; Safari Club International; Scheels; Shimano; Vista Outdoor Inc.; and Winchester.
