Graves is the original designer and patent holder for the positive displacement trigger reset system. He first developed the positive displacement trigger reset system in the 1970s for the Colt Navy revolver. Graves continued to develop and refine his system for additional firearms from the 1980s through the early 2000s for firearms including the popular Ruger 10/22 carbine and BERSA handgun applications.
