ARES Defense Now Shipping MCR Sub-Carbine

MELBOURNE, FL ARES Defense Systems, the country's leading manufacturer of innovative, mission-configurable firearms, parts and accessories announces that it is now shipping its patented MCR® Sub-Carbine to the US commercial market.

ARES' MCR® Sub-Carbine is a lightweight, semi-auto 5.56 NATO caliber weapon featuring gas piston operation, a 3-second quick change barrel system and a left-side folding stock assembly that telescopes for adjusting the length of pull. The charging handle is ambidextrous and interchangeable with standard AR15/M4 charging handles to suit user preference. Suppressor capable and able to be fired with the stock in any position, the MCR® is a clear step above many of the folding stock and telescoping PDW options in the marketplace. Critical Sub-Carbine components are billet machined from aircraft grade alloys and heat treated to exacting specifications for durability and long weapon life. Aluminum components are Type III, Class 2 hard-coat anodized to MIL-A-8625F for maximum corrosion and wear protection. Furthermore, all ARES Defense products are 100% Made in U.S.A. with US materials and workmanship.

Also available to compliment the MCR® Sub-Carbine is an optional SKB briefcase with custom-cut foam insert that holds the weapon, six 30-round magazines, a cleaning kit, Operator's Manual and storage space for a suppressor or other Mission Critical Accessories. The MCR® Sub-Carbine chassis is identical to the rest of the MCR® family and can be reconfigured for belt-feed or other role by simply rearranging its parts.

"Overseas contracts with a NATO partner paved the way for the semi-auto MCR® Sub-Carbine for the US consumer market." says Geoffrey Herring, President-CEO of ARES Defense. "The Sub-Carbine is a critical model of the eight weapons that currently define the MCR® family and is particularly significant for maximum portability. While all of the select-fire military models that we've shipped have featured our co-planar MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail handguard, we recently added a KeyMod style handguard option for the US consumer market to meet the interests of our customers. The select-fire MCR® Sub-Carbine is a proven and documented player in the military marketplace and is a serious system for professional shooters."

The MCR® quick-change barrel system allows users to configure the MCR® in seconds without the aid of tools and is available in 12" (NFA Rules Apply) and 16" inch lengths. Additionally, the MCR® Sub-Carbine features gas-piston operation that provides greater reliability in extreme conditions, and is cleaner, cooler and more reliable in adverse conditions than the legacy direct-gas system.

The unique design of the MCR® Sub-Carbine permits users to upgrade their existing rifles by simply substituting an ARES supplied MCR® upper receiver assembly and folding stock mechanism in place of the legacy upper and stock, and the MCR® is rearward compatible to the earliest AR15's from the 1960's.
