Team Lapua Report

Members of Team Lapua recently participated in a variety of competitions all across the country with great success.

Team Lapua's Cathy Winstead-Severin captured the 2016 Conard Bernhardt Cup in Pe Ell, WA. Winning the aggregate of the hunter rifle and standard rifle in small bore silhouette. This prestigious match feature an abundance of Master level shooters competing over two days. Winstead-Severin was using Lapua Midas+ ammunition for smallbore. Cathy is a national accomplished silhouette shooter, seven time World Champion, and owner of Good Shooting, a sport shooting supplier(www.goodshooting.com). Cathy followed her win by defending her title at the difficult IronMan Rifle Silhouette Championship in Montana. This gruelling match includes two 40-round smallbore silhouette matches followed by two 40-round high power matches on two consecutive days.

Young Malloy Nichols won the Hunter Rifle Championship at the CBC and finished 4th overall. Nichols then captured 1st place in Hunter Rifle and 2nd place overall at the 2016 Lapua Winnsboro Open.

In Virginia, Team Lapua's Wayne Campbell defeated a strong field to capture the VA State Benchrest Championships.

Jeff Lindblom ventured out of his normal arena of high power rifle competitions and won the Sling Division of the Sierra Cup F-Class in St. Louis. Lindblom uses VV N140 powder and Lapua .223 Rem cases and 77 gr. OTM Scenar bullets. Lindblom also captured 2nd Place at the MO Regional High Power Championship

Once the snow melted in Ohio, Team Lapua's Kevin Nevius broke out his highpower gear and won his first match of the season. Nevius used Lapua .308 Winchester Palma cases powered by Vihtavuori N140 powder to push his Lapua 155 gr. OTM Scenar-L bullets in winning the NRA Regional Fullbore. Nevius was a member of the 2015 USA Palma Team that competed in the World Long Range Championships. Additionally, Nevius is the 2015 NRA Smallbore Conventional Prone Champion

Tony Tello of California was dominant at the California State Cowboy Rifle Silhouette Championships winning the High Power portion and taking 1st Master in the smallbore match.
