Starting July 1, 2015, nonlead ammunition will be required when hunting on all California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) lands and for all Nelson bighorn sheep hunts anywhere in the state. Lead ammunition may still be used for target shooting, but is banned in the entire California condor range.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will temporarily close the Ortonville shooting range on weekdays from August 19-23 and August 26-30 for earthen berm maintenance. Portions of the range will be open to the public the weekend of August 24-25; the 200-yard range area will be closed. Regular range days and hours will resume on August 31.

The public shooting range located at West Point Wildlife Management Area will close for a short period of time beginning this Wednesday, June 19. The West Point Shooting Range, located in Troup County, will temporarily close for such range improvement projects as renovation of the firing line shed and replacement of the shooting benches. Current plans are to re-open the range by July 3.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will hold a public workshop on Tuesday, October 9, to present the conceptual plan and take comments for the overall conceptual plan for a public shooting park at Triple N Ranch Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Osceola County.
