Team Krieghoff Takes High Overall and Stacks the Podium in Texas and Florida

Team Krieghoff landed on the podium at two state championships last week, competing at the 2026 Texas State Championship in Fort Worth and the 2026 Florida State Sporting Clays Championship in Vero Beach.

At the Texas State Championship, held April 14–19 at Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch in Fort Worth, more than 900 shooters competed. Brandon Powell earned High Overall in the Main Event, while Madison Sharpe finished Runner-up in the Ladies Main Event and secured the Lady Champion title in FITASC.

New Team Krieghoff shooters Kayla Kane and Jonathan Prince also made their mark. Kane earned Ladies Resident Runner-up and placed in FITASC, while Prince earned Runner-up in Junior FITASC and took High Overall and Junior Champion honors in both the B&P Adios Cup and 4H-FFA events.

At the Florida State Championship, held April 15–19 at Vero Beach Clay Shooting Sports, more than 400 shooters gathered for several days of competition. Doug Vine earned High Overall in the Prelim event, with Mike Luongo finishing Runner-up. Luongo carried that momentum through the week, adding Runner-up finishes in both 5-Stand and Super Sporting, a High Overall win in 20 gauge, and a Third Overall finish in the Main Event.

The event also included a special moment for Team Krieghoff, as Brian Du Quesnay was inducted into the Florida Sporting Clays Association Hall of Fame during a Saturday evening ceremony, recognizing his achievements in competition and his long-standing involvement in the sport.

Krieghoff congratulates all competitors on a great week in Florida and Texas as attention turns to the World English Sporting Clays Championship now underway in San Antonio.
