Berger's Otis White Takes 1st Place at the May Spearpoint Ranch Match

Team Berger's Otis White secured a commanding 1st place finish at the Spearpoint May Extreme Long Range (ELR) Light Gun Match, outperforming a competitive field in challenging conditions. Danny Gilbert earned 2nd place, with Justin Shull rounding out the podium in 3rd.

The two-day event, hosted on May 16 and 17th, tested shooters across multiple extreme distances, with shifting breeze and rising temperatures adding difficulty as the match progressed. Day one was the Spearpoint Light gun tournament, which put shooters in a head-to-head competition. White finished 5th in the tournament. Day two was the traditional ELR light gun match, where competitors engaged targets ranging from 1,511 to 2,911 yards, requiring precise ballistic solutions and consistent execution.

White competed with a rifle chambered in 33 XC, paired with Berger 338 caliber 300 Grain Hybrid OTM Tactical Rifle Bullets and Vihtavuori N568 powder, delivering a total of 12 impacts across the course of fire. His standout performance included multiple hits beyond 1,800 yards, culminating in a successful impact at 2,911 yards.

Score Breakdown:

Sunday's match format featured a 31-round course, including one cold bore target and six standard stages, all counting toward ranking points and medals.

"This match tested everything—wind calls, patience, and confidence in the system," said Otis White. "The Berger 300 grain Hybrids and Vihtavuori N568 load performed exactly the way I needed them to, especially as conditions got tougher. Getting impacts at those distances is always a challenge, so I'm proud of how it came together this weekend and grateful to Team Berger for the support."

White will return to competition at Spearpoint Ranch on June 20–21, where he will look to build on his momentum in the next ELR event.
