Evolution Outdoor, a leading provider of high-quality fishing gear, is pleased to announce the addition of fishing-industry veteran Steve Self as Vice President of Sales. In this role, Self will work closely with the Evolution Outdoor leadership team, with primary responsibilities focused on Buy Groups, Distributor relationships and the continued growth of the company's international business.

Self joins Evolution Outdoor with more than 40 years of experience in the outdoor industry. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales for St. Croix Rods. Throughout his distinguished career, he has also held key sales leadership positions with Maurice Sporting Goods and Zebco, where he served as National Sales Manager.

"Steve has a strong work ethic and a competitive nature, which have undoubtedly contributed to his proven record of success in both sales and management," said Jeff Covert. Steve and his wife of 39 years, Pam, a landscape architect, raised their three children in Illinois and now enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren. Outside of work, Steve is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, fishing, boating, golf, pickleball and maintaining an active lifestyle.

"No matter the season, you can usually find me outdoors enjoying nature and staying active," said Self.

Steve joined Evolution Outdoor on June 1 and will be based remotely from Illinois.
