Hornady Shooters Hamilton and Murphy Win Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship

Hornady® congratulates sponsored shooters Sean Murphy and Greg Hamilton on their performance at the Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship July 11-12, 2026, near Weston, Wyoming.

Murphy used Hornady 6mm 110 gr. A-Tip® Match bullets loaded in his 6mm Creedmoor, while Hamilton ran Hornady 22 Cal. 73 gr. ELD® Match bullets loaded in his 223 Remington.

"The Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship is always an extremely challenging match," said Murphy. "This is a high round count match, and we were able to put enough on target to secure the victory." Murphy added.

A-Tip® Match bullets feature an aluminum tip that's precision machined and longer than polymer tips, that moves the center of gravity and enhances inflight stability, resulting in tighter groups and reduced drag variability. In addition, A-Tip bullets are sequentially packaged for the ultimate in consistent performance.

The ELD® Match (Extremely Low Drag Match) bullet features the Heat Shield® tip, which resists aerodynamic heating and retains its shape to deliver highest-in-class ballistic coefficients. Its optimum secant ogive and boattail design contribute to superior accuracy and extreme consistency from bullet to bullet.
