In 2025, Team Remington's Jason Krause fulfilled a lifelong goal of capturing his first ATA World Championship by winning the Singles title at the Grand American. One year later, the 43-year-old from Henderson, Nebraska, proved it was not a one-time achievement, adding the 2026 Grand American Handicap Championship to his growing list of achievements. Krause's second ATA title in back-to-back years highlights an impressive performance by Team Remington at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois. The event ran from July 29 to August 8, 2026.
"It's a little different knowing you're capable of winning," says Krause. "There was a little more pressure this time." Krause shot 99 of 100 to advance to a shoot-off. In the shoot-off, he broke 23 of 25 to secure his second ring. "The last box was one of the most nerve-racking I've ever had. Now the goal is to keep the momentum and luck going," said Krause.
When reflecting on the accomplishment of winning a second major title in consecutive years, the ATA veteran is still comprehending the feat. "It's just as cool as the first. Winning the Handicap is special, it is the Grand Daddy of them all, and to win this one is a tremendous honor. There are a lot of exceptional shooters that are phenomenal who haven't yet won this prestigious event, I am very fortunate." Krause shot Nitro 27 No. 7.5 in 1,235 fps to win his coveted ring. "It is the best shell made and the only round I shoot when competing in Handicap events. I am very appreciative of the relationship with Remington and thankful for the opportunity to shoot and represent the brand." Krause will take a short break before heading to the Heartland Grand in Iowa and then onto the Southwest Grand in Kansas.
Team Remington had sterling performances across the Singles, Doubles, and Handicap events during the entire competition. Aaron Willoughby won a Handicap event. In Doubles, Zach Nannini and Ian Lawrence both finished in the top five of a deep field of competitors, and Wyatt Debrie and Garrett Channing had several top finishes in the Junior and Sub Junior categories. Barrett Debrie was the World Doubles Sub Junior Champion, followed by Garrett Channing. In the HAA Sub Junior category, Barrett Debrie took home the title, followed by Garrett Channing.
