Team Remington's Thigpen Dominates 2026 NSSA World Championships

Connor Thigpen swept the High All Around and High Over All titles at the 2026 NSSA World Championship Main Event for Team Remington. Thigpen, a high school senior in Cuero, TX, missed a total of just five targets out of 1,100 thrown to capture both premier titles. The World Skeet Championships were held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, TX and ran from September 25 to October 3, 2026. Nearly 600 competitors made up this year's field for the World Championships.

Thigpen won the High All Around over teammate Sheaffer Stanfill in a shoot-off and defeated teammate Houston Deshotels by one target in claiming the High Over All first-place medal. "Being a part of team Remington is one of the greatest honors I have had in my career as a competitive skeet shooter. The team's success during the 2026 World Shoot makes me proud to be a part of team Remington and grateful to have a spot among the elite shooters that I shoot alongside," said Connor Thigpen.

Before the Main Event kicked off, Thigpen won the Mini World High Over All title. "The ammunition that I used predominately throughout the weekend was 20-gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore from the STS line of Remington Ammunition. I tried to practice at least once a week during the month leading up to the World Shoot. I feel extremely grateful to come out on top against such a talented group of shooters." Thigpen notes he was back in school on Monday catching up on schoolwork but says attending the event was worth being a little busy for a while.

Other standout performances were turned in at the World Championships by Team Remington including Development Squad member Mitch Holmes. Holmes, from Crawford, TX, won the Mini Open Doubles Championship and both the 12-gauge and Doubles Open World Championships competing as a Junior shooter. In the 12-gauge event, Holmes won in a shoot-off over teammate Houston Deshotels who finished with a Runner-up medal in a field of 569 shooters. In the Doubles event, Holmes turned in the only perfect score to claim the event title. Sheaffer Stanfill found the top of the podium in the .410 bore event sponsored by Remington Ammunition. He topped a field of 518 competitors and won in the shoot-off over five others who turned in100X100 scores to qualify for the shoot-off.

"Team Remington has a lot of young guns, and they certainly turned in some great performances," said Marketing Director Christian Hogg. "They are extremely talented and dedicated to the sport and we certainly are proud to support them on their competitive journeys," continued Hogg.

Alison Turner won the Ladies High Over All title with an amazing performance and very little training. Turner, who gave birth to a daughter this spring, had only two practices under her belt since May. "I just came out here with the weight off my shoulders and just wanted to come out here and have fun and I brought a win home," says Turner who captured her first NSSA Lady High Over All title. Remington loyalist Jessica Wolfe claimed the top trophy in two events including the Lady's 12-gauge and Wayne Mayes events.
