Team Krieghoff’s Ian Darroch Continues Legacy

Post a hat trick in any sport and people notice. Team Krieghoff’s Ian Darroch posts an HOA hat trick at the Pennsylvania State Trap Shoot, and people congratulate him with, “Three down, ten more to go!”.

Representing the third generation of champion trapshooters, Ian continues to carve out his winning legacy. His father - Ken Darroch holds 13 Pennsylvania State HOA titles and is the only individual in the modern sport to win all five titles in PA – Singles, Handicap, Doubles, HAA, and HOA.

"The PA State shoot is my favorite event of the year. It always ends on Father’s Day, and I shoot with my Dad so that makes it even better that we spend it together as a family, Mom included. Having such an accomplished shooter on the squad makes me work harder, especially when he has 27 State Championships. I'm up to 7 now but I still have a lot of years and work to do to catch up but I hope. to pass him up one of these days."

Continuing another family trapshooting legacy, Deborah Ohye-Neilson won both the Pennsylvania State Lady 2 HOA and HAA Championship titles. Trapshooting icon Kay Ohye won the Non-Resident Senior Veteran HOA and HAA titles demonstrating his tenacious spirit for winning.

Don Schaffer, Jr. continues on a championship track winning the PA State HAA Championship title in addition to the Singles Championship title and HOA Runner Up. Known for his heart and dedication to Trap, Schaffer’s drive earns him well deserved recognition in his home state.

Ken Darroch adds Sub Vet HAA Champion to his impressive trophy list after taking top honors in two Doubles events and winning several Sub Vet titles throughout the week.

Non-Resident HOA Trophies claimed by Senior Vet HOA Champion Mike Blaisdell, HOA and HAA Champion Richard Marshall, Jr., and Junior Gold HOA Champion Noah Gouge helped bolster Team Krieghoff’s HOA podium presence.

The Pennsylvania State Trap Shoot ranks as one of the largest trapshooting tournaments in the Nation. Team Krieghoff’s success against a competitive field demonstrates their skill, dedication, and commitment. For more information, visit
